العلاقات المصرية الماليزية
بدأت العلاقات المصرية الماليزية في الثلاثينات من القرن العشرين من خلال قدوم طلاب ماليزيا لتلقي العلم في الأزهر الشريف .
- تم تبادل التمثيل الدبلوماسي الكامل معها 1959 وقامت حكومة الاتحاد الماليزي بتعيين سفير لها في القاهرة 1960 .
- تم تقديم وشاح التماسك – وهو ارفع وشاح في اتحاد ماليزيا – إلى الرئيس الراحل جمال عبد الناصر في يناير 1964
- اختارت حكومة ماليزيا سفارة مصر في ماليزيا لتقوم برعاية مصالح اندونيسيا في اتحاد ماليزيا وذلك في فترة قطع العلاقات بين البلدين بسبب معارضة اندونيسيا لقيام اتحاد ماليزيا .
- ساندت الحكومة الماليزية مصر في مشكلة تجميد عضويتها في منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي ، ففي المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقده نائب رئيس وزراء ماليزيا أثناء زيارته لمصر عام 1982 أعلن أن بلاده مهتمة بعودة مصر إلى عضوية منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي استناداً إلى أن مصر دولة إسلامية ودولة مؤسسة لمنظمة للمؤتمر الإسلامي
- توجد جالية مصرية في ماليزيا عددها محدود للغاية لا يتعدى 500 شخص ، هم أساتذة الجامعات والمبعوثين الذين أوفدهم الأزهر لماليزيا .
مؤتمر ثنائي بين مصر وماليزيا
نظم برنامج الدراسات الماليزية بكلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية - جامعة القاهرة المؤتمر السنوي الثالث للدراسات الماليزية بعنوان “السياسة الخارجية الماليزية” تحت رعاية أ.د/ جابر عوض مدير برنامج الدراسات الماليزية، ومثلت الإدارة العامة للبحوث الثقافية أ.د/ رجاء سليم - مدير عام الإدارة العامة للبحوث الثقافية، أ. فاطمة الزهراء محمد - باحثة.
وقد تناولت محاور المؤتمر: الاتجاهات الجديدة في السياسة الخارجية الماليزية،والسياسة الخارجية الماليزية تجاه المنطقة العربية والقوى الدولية الكبرى، والسياسة الخارجية الماليزية تجاه المنظمات الدولية وتجاه دول التعاون الإقليمي (الآسيان).
وشارك في المؤتمر أساتذة بكلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية، و ممثلون عن السفارة الماليزية بالقاهرة، وأساتذة من الجامعات الماليزية، السيد السفير / مختار سلات سفير ماليزيا بالقاهرة، وممثلون لإدارة البحوث الثقافية بوزارة التعليم العالي.
Facing Oppression by Development: Mahathir Mohammed
The Department of Malaysian Studies at Cairo University held a one-day conference, The Political Thought of Mahathir Mohammed, on March 10, 2005. It was a chance to discuss Mohammed’s visions on different issues: development, globalization, and multiethnicity in Malaysia. Dr. Mahathir Mohammed is the former prime minister of Malaysia and one of the most prominent politicians in the Islamic world. According to a profile by Melina Nathan, Mohammed is considered to be the spokesman for the new Asia, upholding Asian and Malaysian values, criticizing Western double standards, and winning a following among non-Western and developing countries.
Mohammed was the conference’s guest of honor. In a 16-minute lecture, he talked briefly about the history of Malaysia and its experience of independence in politics and economics. He referred to the right of resistance and pointed to the connotation of anti-Semitism, the controversial term that he was accused of using offensively against the Jewish people. He called for more work to confront oppression all over the world.

Entrepreneurial Studies For Malaysian Students In Egypt
CAIRO, Nov 30 (Bernama) — Malaysian students in Egypt will have the opportunity to take up part-time studies for a diploma in entrepreneurship soon, which programme is aimed at producing credible entrepreneurs.
Malaysian Ambassador to Egypt, Datuk Zainal Abidin Ab Kadir, said the Malaysian Embassy, with the cooperation of government agencies in Egypt and higher institutions of learning in Malaysia, was preparing the programme to be offered to Malaysian students taking up religious and medical studies in Egypt.
“It is now in the final stage with the contents of the diploma-level curriculum, which meets the needs and interests of Malaysian students in Egypt, completed and only waiting for financial allocation to be implemented,” he said at the launch of an entrepreneurship programme organised by the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Ministry and Higher Education Ministry here Sunday.
The programme, themed “Returning the Glory of Islamic Entrepreneurship” and involved the participation of 17 Malaysian entrepreneurs and relevant agencies, including Mara, was launched by Deputy Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.
