Objectives

Specific objectives for the establishment of the DMS are as follows;

  1. To be an academic center to provide information and to promote Malaysian development models.
  2. To be a resource center to disseminate information on Malaysia – history, economics, social and politics – with emphasis on the management of Malaysian multi-racial society.
  3. To provide additional knowledge and skill training to Malaysian students in Egypt and neighboring countries.
  4. To promote research on Malaysia and its relations with Egypt and other Arab and African countries.

Rational of establishment

  1. Interested from Arab society on successful Malaysian development, and considered Malaysia as example “developed and modern Islamic state”.
  2. Malaysian Government desire to share “Malaysia development model” with Arab and African world.
  3. Help to consolidate relationship between Malaysia-Egypt/ Arab World.

Why in Egypt?

  1. Egypt could be perceived as “entry point” to Middle East and Africa.
  2. Egypt was developed knowledge and thinking was the hub since first and had many leading thinker figure.
  3. As a way to “repay the good deeds” to Egypt, because: the role of Al-Azhar University, and Close diplomatic cooperation so much long.
  4. Egypt is third-largest economic power in the Middle East and Africa North, and largest trade partner in North Africa.
  5. Concentration of Malaysian student in Egypt.
