- A group of students has been sent to undergo Arabic course between 10th Dec 08 and 6th January 09
- Another group will be going in May 2009

- Promotional tour to Arab universities (Gulf and Northern Africa) (not done due to visa problem in Saudi Arabia and Libya)

Joint venture Conference with MOE Oman and MOE Malaysia
- International Conference in Oman 7-9 April 08 (MOU between MOE Malaysia and MOE Oman)
- MoU signed by two ministers on 31st May 08
- Proposal to open UM branch in Kuwait
- Kuwaiti representative visited UM in July 2008
- UM VC and delegation visited Kuwait and met the Minister of Higher Education in October 2008
